The lymphatic system is a circulatory system which transports fluid from the space around our cells into the bloodstream. It also plays an important role in our immune response. The circulation of lymph fluid is dependent on movement of the body as it does not have an organ such as the heart to pump it around.
Lymphatic drainage is a gentle massage performed in a specific sequence designed to get the lymph moving through the system and eventually draining into the blood stream. It is very effective for reducing oedema and is also a very useful treatment for cancer patients.
